We are back from our extended weekend road trip to Hot Springs, AR only to celebrate another long weekend, The 4th of July! Woo hoo!! I know it’s kinda sneaky of me to plan our road trip right around the holiday weekend but hey, it’s summertime and I want to work as little as possible. We met four of our friends in Hot Springs and we had a blast. I can’t wait to tell you all about our stay at the fabulous Prospect Place B&B, our river cruise and how we dined on southern fried catfish…
All in good time my friends, all in good time. Our friends, Larry and Barbara

Joined us in Hot Springs. They live right outside of Little Rock on fifteen acres of pure bliss. We visited them back in the fall for a fishing get-a-way on their private pond and to feast on Larry’s fabulous fried catfish. We had so much fun and I never got around to thanking them for their warm hospitality. When I invited them to join us in Hot Springs, I knew this would be the perfect time to thank them personally and gift them with a bit of patriotic pleasure just in time for the holiday. I wanted to create a party tray so they could serve their guest in patriotic style with red, white and blue accents. I swung by Walmart and gathered the items I needed to style this easy peasy party tray.

Tip: Gifting doesn’t have to cost an “arm and a leg”– shop your local big box stores for great finds. I love the way Barbara placed her tray on her coffee bar.

Tip: Give gifts that are practical and useful- paper goods and tumblers are great for easy clean up and outdoor fun. Barbara is a lot like me, she loves to play “interior decorator” in her home by moving things around. *Note* the tray has a new home.

Tip: Include items that can be used long after the party is over- this tray, tea towel and tumblers can be used for the holiday and future backyard parties.

Happy 4th of July!

Enjoy!
