Hola, Hola, Hola mi amigo! We’re back from our winter holiday in Cuba and all I can say is Muy Fantasticio! We relaxed for 6 days in 70 degree weather, ate Cuban food, drank plenty of Mojito’s, sharpened our Spanish speaking skills and enlightened our knowledge of the Cuban people and their culture.

I can’t wait to share our day at the beach, shopping in Old Havana, a night of Salsa dancing and our new friends we made while we were there.

I love a good Mojito and I had some of the best in Cuba.
This cocktail has a few simple ingredients but the key is to make sure you muddle the fresh mint perfectly for an authentic Cuban experience. This recipe makes one drink so double the recipe for two.

Don’t forget to check out our latest gift box at our  Bath and Body Shop. We just added our Valentine’s special package boxed and ready for your sweetheart. We have a limited supply of this item so be sure and place your orders now.

Ingredients

  • 1 lime cut into ½ and 2 quarters
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 shots of white rum
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice
  • Club Soda
  • 12 oz. high ball glass

Instructions

  1. Squeeze ½ and 1 quarter of lime into glass. Add sugar. With a muddler, Muddle the ingredients gently together. You just want to release the flavor of the mint. Don't do it so hard that the leaves break up. The best way to muddle is push down with the muddler and twist.
  2. Add 2 shots of rum. Stir to make sure sugar is dissolved. Add ice. Top off the glass with club soda and stir. Rub rim of glass with remaining mint quarter and a mint leaf. Drop lime quarter into glass.
