I am so excited to share our Master Bathroom Refresh. When I announced that I planned to spruce up our bathroom way back when, I had no idea it would take me this long especially since my plan was to make a few simple cosmetic changes to the area.

Truth is, I got busy with life so the plans to create our spa-day get-away bath, kept simmering on the back burner. I knew I wanted our bathroom to feel like a relaxing retreat without breaking the bank. I didn’t even want to paint even though I’d like to someday change the paint color throughout our home. Since painting wasn’t an option for me,  I created this mood board with my existing color palette. #mjonesstyle #bathdecor
Tip: Creating a mood board helps to bring the vision of your project to life (before here). Once I had my inspiration, I was ready to start collecting items for the refresh. First, I removed all of the accessories in the bathroom then brought back items to create the vision I had for the space.

Next, I went shopping…around my home and found artwork and other décor pieces.

Tip: Switching decor around the house gives a space a fresh new look for zero dollars! I needed a few more items to add to the spa feel I was going for so I headed to Home Goods to purchase white hand towels, cotton bath rugs, a great smelling candle and faux plants.

Be sure to check out my Home Goods haul video here. I returned the items I didn’t use and that kept my budget in line. #cheapgirlsgotstyletoo. I knew I wanted to replace my ceiling light with a vintage chandelier so I went on the hunt at my favorite antique stores and found this gorgeous beauty.

Tip: Always negotiate the price at antique stores when you are spending over $50.00.

After a good cleaning, I had fun decorating our newly refreshed master bathroom. I framed some photos from our Paris, France trip and added them to the tub area. Tip: Enlarge your photos at your local drugstore for a big impact. I placed plenty of candles around the room to add romantic ambiance and filled an apothecary jar with my handcrafted organic soaps. Order your soaps and solid lotions here.

I love our bathroom refresh and I can’t wait to cue up the music, light the candles, pour the champagne and take a long soak.

Until next time,

Enjoy!
