What great plans do you have for this weekend? I plan on putting the finishing touches on our master bathroom refresh. I’ve been so busy with work and personal drama that it’s taken a lot longer for me to complete this project but with fingers crossed, I’ll be sharing the reveal with you next week.

If you haven’t already signed up for my newsletter, be sure and do so and I’ll deliver the post right to your inbox. Keep in mind, this is a refresh with a few simple updates to create a relaxed spa like retreat. I’ll also be adding more spring touches around the house. Here is my dining area I recently spruced up after I put away the left over Christmas decorations…Yes, I have a few signs of Christmas still on display but I’m sure I’m not the only one!

I created this tablescape on a shoestring budget for $21.96! Tip: Shop your home first for creative ideas on mixing and matching what you already have. I’m determined to limit my spending on household items this year because if I’m really honest, I have plenty of décor stuff I still love and use. I started with this cream lace tablecloth. It doesn’t cover my entire table, with both leaves installed and that’s okay with me. I like exposing some of the tables beautiful wood. Tip: If you find a tablecloth you love but it doesn’t fit your table, layer it over another cloth.

These placemats are new and they were $6.99 for four and I purchased two sets. I set the table for coffee, tea and cake by adding dessert plates and my collection of tea cups and saucers. I placed three different creamer and sugar sets and three teapots down the middle of the table this way, guest have easy access to these items.

These flowers came from my florist aka Trader Joe’s. I purchased two bunches for $3.99 each. I trimmed the flower stems to fit the vases, added water and placed them in the center of the table to create a fresh spring bouquet.

Instead of placing the flatware at each place setting, I gathered the forks and spoons together, tucked them in this napkin, gathered the ends of the napkin and slid them through a napkin ring, then fanned the ends of the napkin to create a flower.

I baked my oh so scrumptious Million Dollar Pound Cake with citrus lemon glaze for the final “icing on the cake!”

Tip: Bake a simple dessert for pennies. Coffee, tea and dessert anyone?

Until next time,

Enjoy!
