I’ve been a busy bumble bee during this holiday season, buzzing from one Christmas party to the next and having super fun being a guest instead of a host. I just love seeing my friends entertain in their homes and doing a fabulous job of making their guest feel special.
My childhood friends host a Christmas Tea every year and this year’s theme was an afternoon brunch in Paris, France. These ladies created the ultimate Haute Couture experience with a French café. The tables were layered in pink table cloths with rose petals delicately placed on top, table side tea service, the Eiffel Tower in plain view, violinist serenading us with Christmas Carols, and a Poet who spoke words of fearlessness and self-confidence. I had to remind myself I was in the Piney woods of East Texas.
We played games that schooled us in Paris history and laughed our heads off as we challenged each other on the accuracy of our answers.
Vonda and Monica did not disappoint when it came to the edibles. We had baked potato soup, chicken salad served on pineapple slices, petit fours and all sorts of bite size pleasure. The party always ends with a white elephant gift exchange of teacups and saucers. This game brings out the crazy in all of us but it’s all in fun and love. I can’t thank these ladies enough for their southern charm with ooh la la on top.
