#blue and white dishes
I’m so excited to share my new office space with you. Let me take you back to my first plans of turning my office into a dual function room to work, then lounge when I’m not under the gun of deadlines, household finances and sharing my lifestyle with you. Here is my Moodboard with blue, brown, white and yellow tones. Incorporating blue into my color scheme is a new challenge for me because I lean toward a soft neutral palette, which is evident throughout my home. Browns, greens and creams are my comfort colors, they make me feel like kicking off my flip flops, (I love the cheap ones that are made of rubber) finding my favorite sofa corner and diving into a magazine to catch up on the latest home ideas.

Red is my pop of color magnet, I tend to splash here and there to add a little sass. I kept my desk because of its functionality and the light feel it brings to the room. The desk is actually a dining table and all the space underneath makes it feel “less” official.  Check out my dark chocolate sofa with the right amount of buttons strategically placed to add a classy look. This was my only splurge in the room but well worth the moolah. It’s a Rowe Furniture sofa, they make quality furniture with a little less pinch on your pocketbook and most importantly, it’s made in the USA. This sofa is super dreamy and great for napping after a long day’s work. I bought the floor model which allotted me an extra savings, the color was perfect so I didn’t have to peel through hundreds of fabric samples. The chocolate and blue pillows came with it and have a tufted button too. I added a couple more pillows to lighten up the sofa with a splash of yellow and white. So long old sofa.#brown sofa#animal print pillow#chocolate sofa#Brown sofa
The family wall of fame makes me happy. The pictures were scattered all over the room with no rhyme or reason, so I gathered them all on one wall which gives it a gallery feel. I found this rug at TJMax for a steal. It has the perfect colors of blue, cream and light brown. These square tables are one of a kind; at least I’d like to think so. They have a Spanish style with gorgeous blue and white inlaid tile. You won’t believe it but I’ve had these tables for over 20 years. I push them together or pull them apart just for a different look.#picture collage#picture gallery#brown sofa#spanish style furniture#herrod's teapot#inlaid tile table#coasters
The lamps are from TJMax too. They are the go to store for great buys on lighting. I went shopping in my own design closet (attic) and found the framed art, teapots and other blue accessories throughout the room. This cute candy dish came from a thrift store for $4 bucks and this cobalt blue teapot/cup was a gift from my friend Daphne, when she vacationed in England. Garden stools are running rampant in the design magazines these days. I had to make two trips to TJMax before I purchased this one. The second trip was due to the fact that I was being cheap and I thought I might find one for less. I asked my sissy her opinion and she told me to get my tail back over there before some lucky shopper beats me to it. Whew, I got there just in the nick of time. #white lamps#blue and white decor#blue and white candy dish#garden stool#garden stool#vintage teapots#oriental bird print
This oil on canvas painting of Bluebonnets, is the inspiration for the room. Texas is known for their fields of Bluebonnets and April is the month when the Bluebonnets bloom like wildfire. Come to Texas and you will see us crazy Texans lying in the fields of the bluebonnets lining the highways to shoot that perfect picture. Here is my breathtaking blue chest that once housed diapers. What a transformation don’t you think? I had to shop two places for the knobs but it was worth it because it gave me the idea to mix them up with clear and ceramic finishes.#bluebonnet painting#blue chest#silver knobs#blue and white decor#vintage blue and white teapot
Finally, I needed something to hide all the wires that belong to laptops, printer, shredder and surge protector. This mini trunk was the finishing touch. It’s filled with extra throws, pillows and a mirror I added to reflect the sofa side of the room. Check out the before pictures here. What do you think of my new office space just for me? Okay, I’ll share with my family.
