A great way to set the mood for a relaxing atmosphere in your home is through the sense of smell. A welcoming scent at the front door, a smile and warm greeting from you, embraces your guest and creates a feeling of anticipation of the evenings adventure. When my son, Aaron came home from college for Thanksgiving one year, the first words out of his mouth were, ” it smells like Aunt Wanda Sue’s house”. We celebrated Thanksgiving at my sister’s home for many years and the smell of home cooked goodness invigorated his sense of smell and memories. Candles are a great way to set the mood along with the aroma from the pots on the stove and the oven, your guest won’t be able to stay out of the kitchen. Just pick a scent that appeals to the masses like vanilla and earthy smells, dim the lights and you are well on your way to an evening of fun.
