Thank you for all the wonderful comments about dining on the patio last week. It’s been “Raining Men” raining non-stop in Texas for the past few weeks so when we get a reprieve from all the rain, I head outdoors to enjoy the spring weather. When we built this house, I knew I wanted lots of areas to entertain outside and this house came with not one, not two but three porches. That’s “REAL” southern entertaining y’all. I am blessed to have three covered patios and I use them every chance I get. The only thing that keeps me from being outside is those pesky mosquitoes but little do they know, I have a plan for those rascals and I will share that with you later. I created an intimate picnic setting on my front porch and it took less than 30 minutes.
I made turkey sandwiches, opened a bag of potato chips, added some fresh fruit and made a pitcher of sweet iced tea. I have a couple of chairs and a small table on the porch that I use to carry out my nosy neighbor duties and I added a table cloth and moved the picnic to the porch for me and my little girl, Queen Cleo, AKA photo bomb. All you need is a tiny little space to create the same idea. What do you think about dining outside?
Tip: Keep fresh fruit on hand like berries, oranges and apples. They are good for you and look great as a garnish on the plate.
Tip: Transfer chips and sweets to a cute dish for a personal touch.
Tip: Serve your favorite cookies or chocolates from the market.
Tip: Sandwiches are great, easy to prepare and who doesn’t like a sandwich?
