#crochetbluejeanvest#bluejeanvestHere’s one of my go-to fashion tips that I have shared with lots of my friends and they think I’m crazy. I re-design my clothes by taking the scissors to a garment when I see an opportunity to make it fit and look better on me. For those of you who don’t know me; I am vertically challenged… We call it short around here but for those who get offended by being called shorty; V-C fits the bill. Even though I’m 5’2″,  I don’t like to shop in the petite section for fashion; the clothes look too Old fogey to me. I may be fifty-something but I’m not trying to dress like I have one foot in the grave.

The sleeves on this blue jean jacket were way too long. I tried to make it fit by rolling up the sleeves but it looked a “hot mess” and very uncomfortable. Then I thought…why not cut the sleeves off since I have another jacket in my closet with sleeves? Done and done. The great thing about blue jean fabric is that the seams are double stitched so there’s no raveling; or  seam binding required. It looks like a finished product. Look at this cutie pie. Presto!!! Now I have a new vest to add to my wardrobe. Happy cutting!

Tip: Use a sharp pair of fabric scissors and cut very close to the stitching.
