I had a fabulous flea market excursion at the Vintage Flea Market in Parker, TX last weekend. My bargain buddy Sherry and I met at the gates of Southfork Ranch, where the market was being held. When I arrived, I became anxious from seeing all the cars turning into the tree lined driveway and I could have kicked myself for not leaving the house earlier. Parker, TX is located about an hour and a half from my door step and I thought two hours would be sufficient travel time. That’s what I get for thinking. Every vintage lover around these parts must have had the same idea.

It was packed. I remembered I’d only had a cup of coffee and I needed a biscuit or something but that hunger pain went out the window when I got a glance at the  competition fighting for the front of the line. The only thing on my mind was being a part of the first set of grabbers to enter the gates. We walked in and immediately started calling each other’s attention to the goodies lining the tents. The weather was picture perfect at 68 degrees and I praised Jesus for the wonderful day I knew we would have.

If you watched the soap opera drama called “Dallas” back in the late 70’s and 80’s and the new spinoff recently, then you know about the famous ranch owned by the fictional family, The Ewing’s. The flea market was held on the grounds of this famous estate. The house looks like a Texas style mansion from the big screen but in actuality, it’s not as large as it appeared back then. The home is beautiful and you can tour the inside for a fee. The house sits on several acres and far from the street. Be sure and visit the ranch if you are ever in Parker, TX.

The whole purpose for going to the vintage market is to find vintage treasures to add to your stash. Here are my finds that I fell in love with. It had a hard time choosing my favorites.

I love this vintage linen tablecloth. It says fall-time with all the fruit and veggies. I knew the length would be too short for my table but things like that add more interest to me.

I scored on this glass and wood tray for $20 bucks. I created a coffee station in front of the t.v. in our master bedroom. Here’s my friend Sherry and some of her loot.
