You often hear the kitchen being referred to as the heart of the home. It’s the place where most family and friends gather for meals, parties, and conversation. Why not make it fun for the chef too? When I first started cooking, I had a kitchen the size of Julia Child’s kitchen with just enough room for one cook. Most of the prep work was prepared at the kitchen table then transferred to the cooking area due to minimal counter space. For years, I produced tons of mouth-watering meals from that tiny kitchen and enjoyed every minute of my time spent there. Through the years, I have collected several kitchen utensils and gadgets to make my job faster and easier and I call them my kitchen helpers. They range from small appliances, measuring spoons and cups, gadgets, tea towels, my collection of cookbooks and my mom’s lemon yellow Pyrex bowl, a constant reminder of my childhood. I use these items every time I prepare a meal. I have had my mixer for over 20 years and it still creams cold butter in a flash. This was one splurge I have never regretted. Another is my food processor. No more chopping, dicing and dough making by hand. I let my kitchen helpers do the job of a sous-chef. If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a few items for your kitchen do yourself and your body a favor and invest in some kitchen helpers, you will be glad you did.

Enjoy,

MJ
