I must have French somewhere in my blood. How else can I explain my love for French things? Don’t get me wrong; cut me and I bleed red, white and blue but there’s something about French style, food and decor that speaks to me. The hubs and I traveled to Georgia and Tennessee recently to visit friends and drive through the Smokey Mountains. If you missed the post on Knoxville, you can read about our vintage thrift finds here. We decided to spend a night in Atlanta and when we travel, I love to find unique places to stay. I googled Atlanta’s B&B’s and found Maison LaVigne; French Bed and Breakfast.

As I read the bio on the owner, Eileen, I discovered she had a French Chef background and I knew I had to check out this place. The B&B is located on a quaint little street in Hapeville, Ga, just minutes from Hartsfield Airport.

The home was built in 1906 and still has a lot of its original charm. The front porch is filled with welcoming lounge furnishings; beckoning you to sit a spell. Eileen greeted us with open arms and made us feel welcomed. The Maison LaVigne offers dinner for an additional cost and you can enjoy your meal in your room or in the elegant dining room. I give Maison LaVigne a five star rating for accommodations, food, service, location and intimate setting. Our room was perfectly filled with antiques and a dreamy comfortable bed. We had a romantic candlelight dinner in our room. Mac, Eileen’s dog stole our hearts. He reminded us of our little girl Cleo with his charming demeanor. Mac wanted to steal our steaks too. Eileen reminded us to relax and enjoy our Bed and Breakfast experience so we took advantage and did just that.

We had breakfast in bed then took another nap before leaving. The breakfast was served in courses and included sweet potato pancakes, turkey sausage, fruit parfait and over easy eggs made to perfection. Maison LaVigne is magnificent and a place we will definitely stay again.#maisonlavigne#bedandbreakfast#maisonlavigne#fruitparfait#bedandbreakfast#bedandbreakfast#maisonlavigne#sweetpotatopancakes#turkeysausage#maisonlavigne
Wasn’t that divine? I hope you enjoyed the tour. The next time you’re headed to the Atlanta area, be sure to book a stay at Maison LaVigne for a French excursion right in the heart of Georgia.
