#bestBLTsandwich
Thanks for the sweet comments about Maison LaVigne, a B&B in Atlanta where we stayed and loved every detail. You can read all about our French experience in the outskirts of Atlanta here. How about this scrumptious looking sandwich? Growing up in a family of eight greedy siblings meant eating lots of sandwiches and since meat was at a premium, we became very creative in our sandwich making.

Some of my favorites were syrup/sugar with butter and grilled cheese made with Government cheese.
Bringing two slices of bread together with a little goodness in between is just genius and so is my take on this ultimate BLT sandwich. It has everything I love piled on top of grilled bread and I’m sure if you are a BLT fan, you’ll love it too.

Ingredients:
3 to 4 slices bacon; cooked
1 slice tomato
1 leaf lettuce
2 slices of bread. (French, Texas Toast). I used a ciabatta roll.
1 slice of cheese. I used Manchego
1 egg; fried
3-4 slices of avocado
Fresh cracked pepper
Butter to toast bread

Directions:
Spread a thin layer of butter on both sides of bread. Place bread in a skillet over medium heat. Lay cheese on one slice of bread. Once the cheese starts to melt; add the bacon on top of the cheese. Add the egg. Sprinkle egg with pepper. Place the lettuce on the other slice of bread. Top lettuce with tomato and avocado. Close the sandwich, remove from skillet and slice in half.

Tip: You’ll need some extra napkins to eat this sandwich.
