If I had my way, I’d pack my grip and set off on a never ending trip around the world. I’m not picky about how I travel; ship, plane, train or car as long as I get to see the world and partake in the delicious food found there. We use to be home bodies until five years ago. Vacation was for rich folks, at least that’s what we thought until we made vacation a part of our budget. We I made a promise to plan at least one vacation for us every year. Since we made this decision, the hubs and I have kept our promise. A few weeks ago, our friend’s Jerry and Heidi, invited us to spend a weekend with them in San Diego.

This was our second trip to San Diego and that’s just fine with me. I love San Diego.  The weather is perfect except this time it was “hotter than a firecracker!” There’s tropical scenery, great seafood and the beach. Ahhhh. What more can you ask for?
While there, we took the bridge over to Coronado Island to have drinks at the historical seaside resort; The Hotel Del Coronado. I’ve been to the resort before but every time I visit San Diego, I make my way to the Del. Hotel Del Coronado was built in 1888 and still operates as a luxurious hotel and seaside resort today.

This is the courtyard filled with luscious landscaping. The perfect venue for a wedding.

The walk to the ocean side of the hotel is breathtaking.

The hotel has an herb garden for the restaurant staff.

The hotel has a bakery inside with delicious pastries.

This is the patio area with an open kitchen for baking bread and pizza.

 There is so much history behind this hotel including a guest list of Dignitaries, Presidents, European Royalty and Movie Stars; just to mention a few. We made our way down to the pier for some seafood and sightseeing. San Diego is a fun place to visit with so much history about our armed forces. I hope you enjoyed our weekend in San Diego and you are inspired to make plans to visit there soon.
