Are you planning to do some spring cleaning this weekend? I know, this doesn’t sound like fun and if you’re like me, you’ve been putting it on the back burner with no immediate plans to turn up the flame. I say, “take baby steps!” If you’ve been following my Organization 101 tips, you know that my New Year goal is to organize, purge and share. I’m proud to report that I’ve completed three projects and my latest organized space is under my kitchen sink.
Check out my Entertaining Closet here and my Baking Cart here. The space under the kitchen sink is usually limited to an awkward configuration after the plumbing is installed so it takes some planning to maximize this real estate.

I keep dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning supplies for the appliances, counters and cabinets in this space. That’s a lot wouldn’t you say? I stored all this and more under my kitchen sink and it looks great! Best of all, I can see everything at a glance.

I purchased this awesome Easy Glider from The Container Store. It was a snap to install. I also picked up these pink caddies. They came in several colors and they were on sale.

The smaller one holds supplies for cleaning the kitchen. I can lift it out easily, clean and slide it back under the sink. #caddy#thecontainerstore#organization
The larger caddy holds pot and pan cleaners and extra supplies. I love this space now and I’ve already made plans to organize the areas under my bathroom sinks. All in good time my friend’s, all in good time.

Here are some tips on organizing this space.

Tip: Pull everything out from under your sink.
Tip: Check the area for any leaks and clean; thoroughly.
Tip: Place a liner on the base of the cabinet. Make sure you measure to the exact size. This helps with cleaning and if you have a leak in the future, this will protect the base of the cabinet.
Tip: Select items that are truly needed under the sink and store others elsewhere or purge.
Tip: Measure the area you have for storage then purchase containers that will house and fit in the space.

Have a lovely spring weekend.
