Hi Friends, it’s almost Easter and time to pull out your pastels and whites. Easter was a lot like Christmas in my childhood home. I was so excited about my outfit and getting my hair pressed and curled that I didn’t sleep at all. Even though we didn’t have much growing up, My Mama made sure we looked pristine on Easter Sunday morning and we had a scrumptious Sunday Supper waiting for our return from church. Setting the table for Easter can be a snap and with these few tips for creating a Spring Tablescape, your table will be a welcoming budget friendly gathering spot.
My table is filled with things I already have on hand.
The flowers came from Trader Joe’s. They have beautiful flowers for real cheap.
I added these pastel almonds from World Market.
These lovely paper placemats came from Home Goods. Eight for $9.99. That’s a steal and they are reusable.
I shopped around my house and gathered these blue and white pieces to add some cheer. I’m sure you’re wondering about this gorgeous tablecloth. I found it some years ago while antiquing. It was in a section of a booth and marked cutter? After further investigation, I found a couple holes on the end of one side. It was marked $12!!! For all this handwork??? I about fainted. The holes are still there and I love them!
The dishes are a mix of Fiesta, vintage and new finds over the years.
Tip: Use what you have on hand. It’s all about mixing and matching.
Tip: Start with a white or pastel tablecloth, placemats or a runner and some napkins.
Tip: Use spring colors to create an outdoor atmosphere.
Tip: Shop around your house for any accessories that will add to the cheerful spring like feel. Sprinkle these items on the table.
Tip: Head to your garden or the grocery store for some fresh flowers. Arrange the flowers in small vases or mason jars and place them on the table.
Tip: Add some candy or mints in pastels colors for an after supper treat.
Remember to set your table a few days early so you can enjoy it before the crowd arrives.
