A few weekends ago, I rounded up my posse and headed to the Texas Hill Country for the Round Top Antiques Fair. Last year, the hubs and I made our first visit to the fair and you can read all about our adventures here, here, and here. We had so much fun. Well, let me correct this assumption. When I suggested that we go again, the hubs was like “why don’t you go with a few of your girlfriends?” Mmmmm!

I guess I ran him ragged the last time. I have to admit I was out of control but the place is so over whelming, it just sucks you in and you become part of all the excitement. After a few solicitations, I had a car load of shopaholics ready to hit the road for this girl’s weekend adventure. My friend Shelly, came all the way from Atlanta to check another item off her bucket list. The four hour drive allowed us ample time to map out our game plan so that once we arrived in Round Top, we took off like bandits. One of our stops was The Big Red Barn.

Unbelievable, wouldn’t you say! The entry fee is $10.00 but for the serious collector, this was well worth the fee. I was so amazed at all the authentic antiques under one roof. Beautiful stained glass, hand cut crystal pieces and furnishings.

This tea cart caught my eye. The unique transformation from cart to side table screams adorable! The price was more than I was willing to part with but a very fair price indeed. I found a similar one on eBay and the price was $75 more.

We found a shop with a table, loaded with thrift finds and a sign that read, “everything for a dollar!” We were like vultures gobbling up the goodies. I fell in love with this furniture made from quilt and sari fabric.#sarifabricfurnitue These are not vintage finds but they are so whimsical.
#royerscaferoundtop
We made our way to Royer’s Cafe for dinner. This is all the gang bundled up. It was cold and windy. It felt like the North Pole and all I wanted to do was run for cover.
We had a wonderful time and I’m already geared up for our next trip. Here’s my haul thrift finds from Round Top and other stops we made through the Texas Hill Country. #silverplatedflatware
Silver plated spoons to add to my flatware collection.#yellowdepressionglass
Depression Glass platter. I just love the faint yellow color and handles.

Pink milk glass vase. The grape leaves are so feminine.
#englishpottery#vintageenglishpottery
English pottery. It’s numbered and hand painted.
#blueandwhitecurrierandivesshavingmug
I found this Currier and Ives shaving mug on the $1 buck table. My daddy’s shaving brush from his barber shop, now has a home.
#vintagemileglasssugarandcreamer#sugarpottery
I just had to have this cute milk glass sugar and creamer  and the covered sugar dish is soooo cute with the right dainty spoon to dip up your sugar cubes.
#vintageenamelpitcher#blueandwhiteitalianceramicmold#asianmotiftrinkettray

This enamel pitcher is perfect to sit outside on the patio for watering summer plants. The Asian inspired trinket dish is the right size for rings or loose change. I love blue and white pottery and this little bowl is a cutie.
#blueandwhiterosenthalclassicrosecollectionsaucer
More blue and white saucers. Even though the cups are missing, I can think of a dozen uses for this bold pretty pair.  #vintagewhitemilkglasspitcher#vintagewhitemileglasstumblers#vintagewhitemilkglass
How could I leave this behind? Look at this pretty pitcher and tumbler set. I can’t wait to serve up some sweet iced tea on a hot summer day.

Some of these items will be added to my Etsy shop so be sure to visit M Jones Vintage Closet  for some great vintage finds.

Round Top host this antique show twice a year. Once in the spring and then again in the fall. I hope you get the opportunity to come to Texas for this treasure trip thorough the hill country.
