Thank you my friends for your awesome sweet comments on my latest video featuring our outdoor space for this spring and summer. I’m so elated you enjoyed the tour and I’ll write a post on thrifty tips and sources of the items in the video, very soon. If you haven’t had a chance to watch “moi” on the big screen, please click here for the video. Our patio is ready, just in time for the escalating temperatures we’ve been having and  I’ve created a refreshing beverage to wet our whistle. The main ingredient is a southern must have; sweet iced tea…but with a fruity twist!

AKA…Fruitastic Iced Tea (fruit and fantastic. I love creating my own words) is a fabulous refresher you will want to share with your friends and family! I had so much fun eating making this drink and yes, I had to use some self-discipline to keep from eating all the fruit because it was sooo good.

Make a pitcher of this thirst quenching gem and let it chill overnight. Pour it over lots of ice cubes for a parched free weekend.
Ingredients:
2 quarts Brewed Tea
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1 mango diced
1 Lime zest and juice

Directions:
In a medium pot, bring three quarts of water to a boil. Place three to four family size tea bags in the water, remove from heat, cover and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags. Add sugar, stir and let cool. Pour tea into a large pitcher. Add fruit. Add cold water to fill up the pitcher. Add the zest and juice of one lime. Stir and place in refrigerator overnight to chill. Fill tumblers with ice. Pour tea over ice. Serve with a skewer of pineapple, mango and lime for garnish. This should make two pitchers of tea.
