Hey Friends, I know I’ve been slacking on keeping you in the loop lately but I’ve been traveling and celebrating the summertime way to much. I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July. We traveled to my home town to celebrate with family and on our way home we watched the most amazing finale fireworks. Every city and town had their amazing firecrackers going off at the same time so it looked as though we were driving into “Emerald City” overload. We had plans to watch the show from our patio but this was even better.

A few weeks ago, I shared a video of our outdoor space. If you missed the video, you can watch it here. I created my patio with thrift finds and multiple conversation areas because we love to entertain outdoors.

I’m a southern girl who loves being outdoors, especially in the summer and I like to enhanced my space with a few specific items like comfortable seating, tables, lighting and some bug spray. This area is used for intimate conversations. My dear friend Sherry, gifted this patio set to me. She purchased new outdoor furniture and ask me if I wanted her “hand me down.”  You know I said YES!!!

This was the perfect size for this area. The lamp is a Goodwill find and the clock once hung above the outdoor fireplace until it stopped working. Now I use it for a centerpiece. Clever Huh?

You can make a table out of just about anything. I had this galvanized tub sitting in the garage and now I’ve put it to good use. It’s perfect for drinks or to rest your feet.

I used a beach mat for the rug and with a few throw pillows, outdoor living never felt so good.

The wall art is a collection of thrift finds and gifted items. I use anything that will take the outdoor elements, like this screen door which came from my childhood home and the metal fan blade hanging above the sofa.

Another thrift find is this $5 table, turned bar cart to serve snacks and drinks.

My favorite is this vintage sofa that once belonged to my mother. This sofa was on it’s way to the dump until I got some sense. I can’t believe I let the thought of trashing this beauty into my mind! I had it re-upholstered and now we have a napping couch where we catch lots of zzzzzzzzzzz!

There is no shame in my game when it comes to thrifting. I saw this ottoman on the side of the road and struggled to get it in my truck, but once home, I knew just where I’d put it. #onthepatio.#outdoorspace#patio
We practically live and eat on our patio all summer. I hope you are enjoying your outdoor space. All it takes is a few trips to the thrift store and a wild imagination.
