When I first experienced the decadent texture and taste of a macaron, my eyes rolled to the back of my head! Where had these tantalizing round treasures been all my life! I was introduced to macarons only recently while shopping with my girlfriend in Dallas, of all places! Lorri, is a French major and prides herself in knowing the “ins and outs” of French “everything!” We stepped
into one of her favorite French patisserie’s and she ordered up two macarons. The cashier said “that will be $8.00!” What the What??? I about fainted. $4 bucks for this tiny cookie…but when I took my first bite, I was smitten. I knew macarons were definitely on my list before leaving Paris. My nephew Derrick, met us in Paris for a few days to guide us on our tour.  He lives in Europe and frequents Paris often. What a treat to have my nephew hook me up on all the must see hot spots that most tourist have to discover by chance. One of our favorite stops was Fauchon restaurant and tearoom. Fauchon has been around since 1886 serving up exotic fruits, vegetables and teas. #fauchonparisrestauranttearoomThey added several items to their menu over the years including chocolates, a deli section and their famous macarons. No wonder these little sweet clouds of perfection come at a premium, they are quite a challenged to make and require a skilled baker to get them just right. #fauchonparismacarons#fauchonparismacaronThe meringue is made from almond powder, sugar and egg whites. Fauchon has sooo many flavors #fauchonparismacaronsit’s hard to make a decision

but after eyeing the price of just one, (see what I mean) I narrowed my choices down to my favorite, lemon and hazelnut and for a Paris treat, I added 

rose and chocolate. ”
