If you’ve been following my post, you know that we, the hubs and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Paris, France. This vacation was a dream come true and an opportunity to discover this magnificent city. We love to travel and stay in hotels that offer luxury, convenience and delicious cuisine. Hotel de Nell  has it all.
“Simply Luxurious”
is how I would describe this hotel.

It’s not everyday you get to experience luxury – after all, that’s why it’s labeled as a luxury, meaning it’s more of an indulgence rather than a necessity. Still, there are moments when it’s nice to reward yourself after months of stress at work, for instance, or it’s time to celebrate a very special occasion.

Traveling is among life’s greatest pleasures and in terms of luxurious vacations, upscale hotels are almost always included in the trip. This time, let’s look at a visit to the relatively new Hotel de Nell in Paris, a city frequently associated with style and luxury!

New Contender

Opened only three years ago, Hotel de Nell is situated in the Ninth Arrondissement of Paris, an excellent location for exploring the city considering it’s not too far from the main tourist attractions. You have access to Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Moulin Rouge, and Bastille Opera House to name a few. The Eiffel Tower is a bit farther, but still easily reachable.

Simply Luxurious
You might find it ironic to put the words ‘simple’ and ‘luxury’ together, but it’s because in Hotel de Nell, you won’t see extravagant decor. Intricate details adorn the architecture, yet they’re added to make the structure stylish and not overly grandeur. Travel + Style praised the interiors as having a great balance of traditional and modern styles.

Moving inside, a couple who celebrated their wedding anniversary at the hotel shared their experience with The New York Times and described the Prestige Room of Hotel de Nell as “tastefully appointed with contemporary furnishings.” Wearables and other fabrics in the rooms like the hotel’s customary robes and bed linen are from the luxury French company, Garnier-Thiebaut.

The bathrooms are complete with Japanese-style bathtubs, which are usually carved from single huge blocks of marble. Online culture publication The Scene published a video blog featuring two regulars visitors of the Hotel de Nell, and one of them mentioned that the bathrooms also have aromatic bath salts from Bulgari. This just goes to show how the subtle touches often resonate with guests the most, and the Hotel de Nell recognize this.

T Magazine highlighted the hotel’s French bistro headed by chef Bruno Doucet. The La Régalade Conservatoire is one of Doucet’s three La Régalade restaurants and the menu here includes Scallop Carpaccio with diced Granny Smith Apples and Roasted Veal Breast with Root Vegetables. Also, their rice pudding is arguably the “best” in Paris.

Moreover, there’s a bar that features an extensive wine collection and serves skillfully blended cocktails. If you have a sweet tooth, you can take a few steps outside towards À La Mère de Famille, a confectionary, which has created chocolates and candies since 1761.

At the hotel’s basement are treatment rooms that specialize in spas, facials and massages. Of course, if you want extra privacy, you may also arrange an in-room service.

In short, the Hotel de Nell delivers luxury accommodation options through simple pleasures which hit all the right spots–minimalistic but stylish rooms, great food and relaxing treatments. As for the rates, a double room starts at around $470.

Hotel de Nell is first on my list of places to stay in Paris and with all it’s amenities, no wonder it is a hotel of choice.
