I’m sooo excited for this weekend because the weatherman is teasing us with a prediction of sunny skies and 70 degree temperatures so I will be one of those annoying Spring enthusiast, taking advantage of the long awaited season. The one thing I’m not going to do is cram my schedule with chores. Instead,
I think it’s time to hit up a few of my favorite antiques stores. I’m getting giddy just thinking about rambling through junk and coming up with treasures so it goes without saying that junking antiquing is one of my favorite things and definitely makes the list of Magical March loves.
My Mama got me hooked on the journey of junking. She knew every store in our home town and every shop owner new my Mama, Mrs. Lucille. My Mama loved antique furnishings so when she found a piece of furniture she couldn’t live without, my Mama wouldn’t hesitate putting the item on Lay-a-Way, and this is how my siblings and I ended up with the few antiques we own today. When I’m antiquing, there are a few collectibles that I’m always on the hunt for so today, I’m sharing some of my favorite things to collect.
Milk Glass– I drank the milk y’all! I’m on the hunt for milk glass like many other collectors but I’ve refined my search after I came to my senses. When I see a piece of milk glass, I tell myself unless it’s hobnail or Westmoreland, Do Not Buy!
Chairs– I Love Chairs! Period! The End!
Vintage Signs– This one is really cute and would go nicely in a farmhouse kitchen.
Vintage Cookbooks– Look at Martha Stewart in her 80’s fashion statement dress, pearls and all. I can’t wait to try some of these recipes.
**Sale** – This Four Letter Word, is my weakness! I stop dead in my tracks when I see a sale sign.
Silver Plated flatware– I love to collect different patterns of flatware. I think it makes for a beautiful tablescape.
Blue and White– Who doesn’t love blue and white pottery!
Crystal Pitchers– I love the small ones for juice and to use as a vase.
Handmade Crafts– this tulip wreath is so beautiful. Made from faux flowers and formed into a gorgeous wreath to hang anywhere. It screams springtime.
What are your plans for the weekend? I hope they are filled with springtime love.
Enjoy!
