This year’s trip to The Round Top Antique’s Fair included a stay at Inn On The Creek, a boutique Bed & Breakfast located on the banks of The Salado River in Salado, TX. This quaint village
In Bell County, Texas has been around since 1867 and with records of Native American Indian, Mexican and Anglo-American settlers, this creek side town has earned it’s right in Texas history.
There are plenty of peaceful places to stay in Salado and after researching the choices of B&B’s, I clicked on Inn On The Creek and I’m so glad I did. The tree lined road to the Inn with deer roaming the lush gardens, beckoned our inquisitive nature.
Then I spotted The Manor, the main house to the Inn and I was mesmerize by the stately structure of gingerbread, gables and columns that aligned the entry.
Reason #1 B&B’s are usually located in picturesque settings to create a feeling of peace.
We arrived at sunset but I wasn’t about to let that stop me from capturing the view down by the creek side lounging area. Chairs aligned the creek to capture the sunsets. The rain ceased long enough for me to pull out my camera.
Reason #2 Most B&B’s take pride in providing superior accomodations for their guest. Unique antique furnishings, a welcoming glass of wine and a calm whispering setting, just to name a few.
Reason #3 The cost to stay at a B&B is comparable to most hotels or less with all the luxury of a five star stay. Inn On The Creek has 22 private rooms in 6 different locations, plenty enough room to accommodate a large family gathering or an individual.
Reason #4 Full southern breakfast served on crisp linens and china, is the best breakfast you’ll ever have. I love when they serve homemade buttermilk biscuits slathered with real butter.
Reason #5 the feeling of tranquillity. B&B’s capture an era in time that calls for sipping a glass of iced tea on the porch with friends.
Which do you prefer, a B&B or standard hotel? I’d love to know.
Enjoy!
