Hosting a cookie exchange party is fun and almost effortless. I recently hosted my very first party and all I can say is Wowza! I piled enough cookies in my cookie barrel to eat, share and freeze for later.
Can you imagine an assortment of scratch baked yummy homemade cookies right at your fingertips without having to set up tent in your kitchen? That’s what a cookie exchange party will yield.
The rules are easy but the math formula is where I fall short. See, the whole idea is to bring a certain amount of cookies and leave with the same amount. This all depends on how many participants are in the party so I solicited my engineering friend, Natalie to help with this math assignment and everyone was all smiles and cookie pleased.
Rules For Hosting:
1. Invite a few friends. Six is a good number and the more the merrier.
2. Have each guest to bring three dozen homemade cookies from the same recipe on a platter.
3. Bring copies of their cookie recipe to share. (the host provides the number of copies needed once the final headcount is determined).
4. Bake three dozen cookies. I baked Cranberry-Orange Cookies.
5. Provide refreshments. Keep it simple with wine and a non-alcoholic beverage, cheese, crackers, fresh berries and great appetizers that are already pre-packaged and ready to pop in the oven.
Tip– Provide a take home container for your guest to store their cookies. I purchased these from Dollar Tree and scribbled a different holiday depiction on each lid. #noartskillsneeded
Turn on the Christmas music and have fun.
Until next time,
Enjoy!
