What a fun weekend I had at the Texas Women Bloggers Farm to Table Dinner Event this past weekend. I met some lovely lady bloggers, drank lots of wine, ate yummy food and toured the Urban Acres co-op warehouse.
I am fairly new to the blogging world, so mingling with minds that love to share their lives and spill the beans with everyone is empowering. Taylor, the Community Director for Texas Women Bloggers and hostess extraordinaire, rolled out the Pink carpet for us. We were served on china and drank from crystal goblets and let me not leave out linen tablecloths. The table was fit for a queen and we all felt like royalty. We feasted on creamy butternut squash soup, crispy kale salad, Texas brisket grilled to perfection and sautéed yellow squash, all compliments from the chefs at Market Street DFW and Urban Acres Farmstead Co-op DFW, provided the fresh veggies for the meal. Lost Creek Winery located in Burleson, TX, provided the wine paring for each course and a very smart Sommelier gave us a history lesson
on wines.
For dessert, Lick Honest Ice Cream provided chocolate, vanilla bean and pumpkin ice cream and dared us to create our own ice cream sundaes with a wide selection of toppings.
I was surrounded by so much girl power, I forgot all about the cold misty weather outside and the hour travel time home. . Here are some pictures and a taste of what you missed. The dining ambiance had limited lighting and the four glasses of wine didn’t help so I’m apologizing for my pictures in advance.
Enjoy,
MJ
