Guess Bedroom ORC Fall 2019 Week-4

Why did I go on vacation during the middle of my first One Room Challenge is beyond me! This is week four and I didn’t do a single thing this week towards my project until yesterday. To be honest, I’m writing this post today. Talk about deadline drama, it’s happening over here y’all.

I painted frantically yesterday and this morning, slapping Velvet Finishes paint on three pieces of furniture. Don’t look close, you’ll spot a few bumps of paint here and there. It took three coats to cover the black and gray. I cut corners on the desk and table by leaving the desk top in it’s original robins egg blue and the gray legs on the table, intact. I started this project with all sorts of grandiose ideas including stenciling a 10’x13′ statement wall with a window in the middle.

I even purchased the stencil and then started reading the reviews on how difficult stenciling can be so this morning, I ditched the idea of stenciling and ordered this peel and stick wallpaper.

I’ve never wallpapered but trust me this paper is going up come nook or crook.

I’m not a fan of curtains/drapes but the design gods swear by them and to make sure I’m following some of the rules, I’m adding white curtains with these tassels from Smith Honig to add color and a little boho vibe to the starch white curtains. There is a lot of wall space in this room with only one window and a closet door I had to come up with some budget friendly wall art. I found these floral images in my photo stash, downloaded them to a print shop to enlarge and frame them for the walls.

I’m sticking to my budget by shopping my home for accessories, you never know what cost may surface during a design project. The floors are going down next week and I can’t wait to see how they come out. I hope you are following the other guest participants in the One Room Challenge.
