Welcome to week five of the fall 2019 One Room Challenge! Y’all, I’m feeling pretty confident that I might just be able to slide into home base. This is certainly not how I felt last week after dropping everything to take a vacation with my girlfriends.

I had my “To Do” list bouncing around in my head instead of on paper #bigmistake. The first thing I did when I returned from vacation was create a punch list to calm the storm building up inside me. Next week is The Reveal and as you can see from my punch list, I’ll be a busy little bee until I hang up my welcome sign.

Take a look at week one, two, three and four.  Next week is all about the WOW! I partnered with Velvet Finishes Paint to give the occasional furnishings a facelift. Minimalistic is my go to white paint.  It’s a pure white with a perfect rich finish. I love Velvet Finishes easy three step process which includes a chip resistant product to protects your paint job. Here’s the before and a sneak peek of the after.

The pulls on the desk and night stand are vintage brass with lots of detail. They add character and only needed a little elbow grease. I ended up polishing one set with Brasso and using Rub’n Buff on the pulls for the desk since the previous owner painted them with gold paint.

I couldn’t resist purchasing lamps and a couple gold accent pieces to add to the accessories for decor. I need more wall art too but everything I love @homegoods is way over my budget. I laid eyes on a huge shopping bag in the checkout line for .99 cents.

Later, the creative side of my brain talked me into cutting two panels from the bag and framing them. Presto! Wall Art for $21 bucks.

The floors are being installed today and I’ll be wallpapering this weekend and clawing my way to the finish line.

Thanks for dropping in and be sure and pop over to the other ORC guest participants for the latest updates.

Mark your calendars for the final fall 2019 One Room Challenge next week.
