A great meal is one of my favorite ways to celebrate special occasions and cruising has some of the best food ever!

For the past few years, the hubby and I have taken a vacation around his birthday, not that our vacations are planned specifically for his B-day, he’s just fortunate to have a birthday in the summer and this year was no different.

We cruised on Carnival for the first time and I loved so many things about this cruise line. First, we drove to the port in Galveston, TX and this saved us on airfare. My niece lives thirty minutes from the port so we all piled up at her crib for the night which saved on hotel accommodations and lastly, Carnival is all about having fun! There were lots of millennials aboard the ship partying like rock stars and since we were vacationing with all our millennial kids, the cruise was perfect.

We’re not big on excursions especially if the ports are ones we’ve already visited so we opted to lounge around the ship and spend our excursion bucks on a night at the Chef’s Table.

This was our first time experiencing the Chef’s Table and for a foodie like me, it was fabulous! The dinner was 3.5 hours of total opulence. We toured the massive kitchen and were served appetizers and champagne.


Then we headed to our private ooh la la dining quarters where we were greeted by a highly experienced wait staff. The dinner menu was so la di da I could hardly contain myself.

We ate by candlelight which does not make for the best images but I did my best.

Each course came with a different pairing of selected fine wines. #allyoucandrink Y’all I’m talking five star food and service in an intimate setting for $75.00! You won’t get this type of meal anywhere else.

Treat yourself to an evening of ocean bliss at the Chef’s Table.
