I had lots of fun creating this year’s Thanksgiving tablescape and I’m excited to share the reveal with you.
I created a mood board which I shared last week and after gathering a few more items, the table finally came together, just in the nick of time. (video below)
Christmas decorating is trying to take over and we haven’t even stuffed our faces with scrumptious Thanksgiving dishes. It’s hard to focus on my favorite meal of the season when folks are already knee deep in Christmas decorating and entertaining. Whoa is what I say! I want to enjoy every minute of “the most wonderful time of the year” and this includes turkey day.
The inspiration for this tablescape started with this pinecone and twig garland, I scored at Goodwill. My first thought was rustic with a pinch of glam and after shopping my home, I realized I needed a little retail therapy so I headed to Home Goods and found this table runner and gold metallic dessert dishes.
The art to a gorgeous tablescape is layering the place settings. I started with a simple round placemat in two colors, olive and gold. Olive at the heads of the table and gold in between.
White dinner plates are perfect for layering and blend well with any color or pattern. I love these new dessert plates and they add the glam I was after.
Menu cards are a great way to get your guest excited about the meal. I created these menu cards and placed them on top of the dessert plate. (download your printable menu card- three styles)
Fruit is an easy and affordable way to add texture. These Granny Smith apples are a perfect shade of green and will make a delicious apple crisp, later on.
The centerpiece includes an over sized wooden dough bowl piled with pumpkins and faux flowers in fall colors.
A short walk around my yard yielded these cedar branches with juicy berries. I snipped several and layed them on top of cream colored dinner napkins with shiny gold thread.
Gold napkin rings and crystal goblets add more glam to the rustic feel of the table.
There’s nothing like eating by candlelight to add to a great meal so I’ll light the candles for a meal fit for a well deserved family.
