Hi Friends, I’m back. Did you miss me? I sure hope so. I have been knee deep or shall I say neck deep in a fundraising event for my church for the past six months. I was the chair with six fabulous ladies working their tooties off selling tickets and completing a few other projects I coaxed them to complete. Best of all, this fundraiser provides scholarships for inner-city students to tour colleges and universities across the country with the hopes of encouraging them to increase their knowledge of furthering their education. We held the event Sunday and I literally needed a week to detox from the stress of it all. Then there was month-end on my real J O B and that means all hands on deck in sales. Never fear, I have lots to share with you so let’s get started.
I’m back and standing on my soap box about Easy Entertaining. My neighborhood has a ladies night out once a month where the women in the hood gather for food, fun and fellowship… let me be honest here… Wine. We have a super fun time catching up on what’s going on in our lives, bargain shopping and a little gossip thrown in for good measure. I hosted the last gathering and it was easy as two snaps and a twirl,
so here’s the scoop on throwing the easiest ladies night out shindig ever.
Tip: As the host, prepare a simple dish like my go-to cheese and fruit tray. Add some crackers and you got-err done!
Tip: Use paper goods; I didn’t because I worked and didn’t have time to grab some before heading home.
Tip: Let your guest know you will provide a beverage, preferably non-alcohol and suggest they bring their adult beverage if they choose to do so. Trust me, they will.
Tip: Make a pit stop at your favorite bakery for a few sweet treats.
Tip: Grab your garden shears and cut a few plants/flowers from your yard, place them in a bowl or vase to create a centerpiece.
Tip: Have your guests bring a covered dish of their choice that way folks can swing by the market or prepare an easy dish at home.
Look at this spread my neighbors provided and all I did was hang the welcome sign on the front door.
