I love to decorate my home with a mixture of furniture styles but I have to admit I lean more towards traditional with an eclectic vibe. I have no formal training in interior design just a passion for what feels good and looks great to me. I admire those who have the skills to know the do’s and don’ts of decorating but for me it’s all about what makes my home feel warm, cozy and inviting. I’m also a bounty hunter for a bargain that’s why I shop everywhere looking for that one piece or accessory that you won’t find anywhere else but in my home. I love painted furniture.
I treat my home like a furniture store, moving things around all the time to create a new feel or look. Right now, I’ve flipped flopped my breakfast area and family room furnishings for the summer. My friends think I’m purchasing new items all the time for my home and all I’m doing is rotating the same items throughout the house. Here are some beautiful pieces of painted furnishings I found at one of my favorite retail therapy shop.
One of my favorite hidden treasures is Golightly’s Gallery located in North Richland Hills, TX. This shop is filled with ecletic interior designers who step outside the box when it comes to creating the perfect items for your home. The shop has quaint little venues throughout. Even the bathrooms are filled with great finds. Golightly’s has re-claimed yard art, vintage accessories, collectibles, painted furnishings, jewelry and so much more. I’ve been shopping at Golightly’s Gallery for years and yes…they all know me by name. Look at these adorable painted pieces.
When you create the kind of rooms where your guest feel like kicking off their shoes, curling up with a mystery book or magazine or laughing out loud, please know you have been paid the highest compliment without a word. I hope these pictures inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and throw a curve ball in your decorating decor. Remember, furniture doesn’t have to be used for the original purpose and I’m so thrilled about that. What do you think about adding a painted piece to your decor? I would love to know.
