It’s the weekend and the last weekend for Spring 2017. Can you believe “hot” summer is next week?! We’ve had great weather so far, including lots of rain and cooler temps than normal this time of year. I feel the blazing sunny days creeping in but I’m okay with the summer heat as long as I have a Big Texas glass of iced cold tea and a shady spot like my patio to lounge and cool off. Since my house faces north and south, the patio hardly gets any direct sun and when

We turn on the ceiling fans and add a loud rickety box fan, it’s bearable. We BBQ all summer and eat most of our meals on the patio. Since we love to entertain, we added an extra dining area to accommodate the summer crew.

I went shopping in my garage and reclaimed the table my hubby was using for his fish fry station. It took me weeks to scrub off the grease on the tabletop from years of frying fish but I was determined to create another al fresco dining area on a budget.

The chairs to the table were already being used around the house so it was just a matter of dragging them out on the patio and voila, my dining area was ready to decorate for Easy Summer al fresco Dining. I headed to Walmart and found this gorgeous tablecloth which is a part of the Better Homes and Garden collection.

It matches perfectly with my melamine plates, I already own. I added these plastic wine glasses and salad plates, from a set of my outdoor dishes I use every spring and summer. Using plastic or paper is great for outdoor dining.

While I was at Walmart, I spotted this galvanized steel caddy and had to place it in my cart. This caddy is also a part of the Better Homes and Garden collection.

How could I leave without finding a new home for all this cuteness?! This caddy is perfect for all your utensils and has extra compartments for napkins and your favorite bottled beverage.

I added some fresh summer fruit, cheese and crackers to these berry bowls from my  dish collection and pulled this tablescape together for less than $32.00.

Remember to always shop your home first for items you can re-purpose or use in your décor. Now I’m ready for summer dining al fresco!
