We are headed on another road trip this weekend to visit family and to pick up peaches from a farm along the way.
I can’t let this summer go by without loading up on peaches for the winter months. I make peach cobbler during the holidays with these sweet and juicy prize peaches! Last month we made our first road trip to  Hot Springs, AR and had a wonderful time with friends. I’m starting to like these road trips with the hubs as long as we can agree on whose the best driver. All about relaxation and that’s what we did for two whole days. The town is so quaint and filled with beautiful period homes, parks, downtown eateries and shops. The mountains surround the city and the famous bath houses dating back to the 1800’s, boast about the healing waters of the springs that naturally flow through the town. We love to stay at Bed and Breakfasts when we travel. Hot Springs has plenty to choose from but I picked The Prospect Place.

Tip– B&B’s have the feel of home away from home and a scrumptious breakfast is included in your stay.
The Prospect Place sits atop a hill on a quiet street with other beautiful homes. There is a winding road to get to the back of the property which we recommend so there’s no need to climb the front stairs unless you want to get your morning workout.


We felt right at home with warm cookies to munch on. The owners have a family of fur babies who greet you behind their private area. The home is decorated in period finds and the original wood floors creak with pleasure. We fell in love with the grounds that surround the property.

…and the breakfast was outta this world… Yum!

Tip- Visit one of the many bath houses and experience the different temperatures of the spring waters.
A Free pass to The Quapaw Bath House is included in your stay so we headed downtown to wade in the healing waters of Hot Springs.

Tip- Dine on authentic burgers, cafe style.
After dipping in waters ranging from 100 degrees plus, we felt healed and hungry for a good burger so we crossed the street to check out Bubbalu’s Bodacious Burgers. If you love old fashion burgers, Bubbalu’s Burgers are the Bomb!

Tip- Watch the sunset while dining on a riverboat.

We met up with our friends for our dinner cruise on The Belle of Hot Springs. This riverboat cruises around Lake Hamilton, a beautiful lake aligned with gorgeous homes. We made dinner reservations to make sure we claimed our spot together. The cruise comes with a narrator, sightseeing deck and the best catfish along the Delta. Hot Springs is a great place to visit and one of our must see cities for a relaxing weekend get a way.
