Hey y’all, I’ve been feeling sad over the past couple weeks and I haven’t shared why until today. Three weeks ago, I wore a pair of really high heels to work. When I put them on, they were pinching my bunion area on my left foot but in the name of cuteness, I was determined to wear them. I convinced myself that I’d be sitting down in meetings most of the day and if I needed to, I could slip my feet out of bondage under the table.

Unfortunately for me, I ended up having to walk all over the office putting out fires and by the time I headed home, my left foot was killing me. Later that evening, my foot swelled twice it’s normal size and then the excruciating pain set in. The next day I couldn’t put any weight on my foot. A trip to urgent care and two trips to the doctor later, I was loaded up on steroids, pain killers and using a cane.

There was absolutely no way I could wear a pair of shoes, not even flip flops. I literally thought I might have to have my foot amputated. It took 10 days before I could slip a slide on my foot and then a few more days before I was able to put my weight on it. The first thing I did after regaining my mobility was, “threw those shoes in the trash can!” I’m sure you are wondering where all this is leading to right? Well, I’m sad because I have come to the realization that my high heel days are over and for those who know me know I love a stiletto! The good in all of this is that my foot is fixed and I get to go shopping for shoes.

I’ll have to find some stylish lower heels for Wednesday’s Closet Tips like these wedge sandals I’m wearing today.
