Everything taste better between two slices of bread! I can vouch for this slogan after growing up in a houseful of greedy siblings.

There were eight of us kids hanging out in my mama’s kitchen inventing all sorts of new sandwiches. We were very creative with our meager ingredients. We made syrup sandwiches, mayonnaise sandwiches, butter and sugar sandwiches, government cheese sandwiches and we loved them all. Even without meat, these were the sandwiches that filled our bellies, made us smile and the ones that bring fond memories at family gatherings.

Until next time,

Enjoy!
