Happy Labor Day and unofficial end to summertime! Just thinking about having to say farewell to summer, makes me sad.
I love all things summer except mosquitoes which I’ve had to battle all season. I don’t even complain about our 100 plus degree temperatures here in Texas, I just make a big pitcher of refreshing fresh squeezed lemonade and turn on the AC.

I won’t allow summer 2018 to disappear without celebrating the invigorating colors and casual dining we enjoy on our patio so I’ve dressed our outdoor table for a summer Labor Day dinner. Blue and White, yellow, orange and nature went into this tablescape along with my favorite beverage. I created this scape on a budget by using items I already owned then adding a few inexpensive touches.
The three layered place setting starts with a cardboard cake round. I purchased seven in a pack from Walmart for $3 and some change. These melamine plates have shown up on my summer table several times and they add lots of happy color.

I didn’t want to cover the beautiful flowers on the plate so I opted for these tiny square bowls from World Market for $.99 cents a piece. They are perfect for fruit and nuts.

Aren’t these polka dot napkins a breath of sunshine?! Well they aren’t napkins, they are fabric swatches used for quilting and other craft projects and I found them at Walmart for $.99 cents a piece. Note…lots of .99 cents going into this tablescape.

I love stuffing the napkin in my drinking goblets then adding the fork and knife for a whimsical touch.

This round linen tablecloth is one of my favorites to use because I can place it on every table in my home even though it’s not the perfect size for the table. I simply swirled it up in the middle of my table then pulled the ends between each place setting.

I shopped my home and gathered a few of my blue and white ginger jars for the centerpiece.

Yellow flowers are a must for summer décor and these fluffy faux ones from Hobby Lobby, at 50% off are perfect.

My table would not scream summertime without a pitcher of fresh squeezed tangy lemonade. Ahhhh!
