It’s already week two of the One Room Challenge and I’ve spent the first precious week mulling over flooring and for good reason. Flooring isn’t cheap!

I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be sitting around with my bottom lip stuck out because I wasn’t absolutely in love with my new floors. I’m not just replacing the flooring in this guest bedroom. I’m going all-in and replacing carpet in three other rooms including our master bedroom so I had to get it right y’all. I even created a video and ran a poll on my Instagram for your help with my final two choices. I’m saving the winner for the reveal. I spent so much time making the final decision on the floors that I almost missed the window to schedule the installment before the reveal. Apparently everyone has the same idea about getting new floors. I can’t wait to kiss my nasty carpet good bye! Now that I have the major part of the renovation under construction, I can focus on the fun part of this project, designing the space. Let’s review the design plan and room layout.

The room will have twin beds, a desk, tables for night stands, a chair and anything else I can find around my house now that my budget is shot after replacing the floors. I’m adding lots of muted colors to keep the room vibrant yet relaxing. The inspiration for my design came from these throw pillows and I love ironstone so I’ll be adding some as accessories.
Catch up from the start with week one, here. I’ll be back next week to share my paint color and projects. I’m excited to partner with Velvet Finishes, my favorite paint line for furnishings that will go into the room. Be sure and follow your favorite room transformations here. There are lots of guest participants with great room designs you are sure to love.
