“Howdy Folks, Welcome to the State Fair of Texas,” in Big Tex’s voice. The hubby and I spent the afternoon at the state fair and had a blast. We made a list of all our favorite fair foods on the train to Fair Park. We took the train which eliminated parking, traffic and my ability to be a back seat driver. The transit system drops off at the entry gate to the fair. It’s like having VIP service. Our first stop was at the long line in front of Fletcher’s Corn Dog station. You can’t go to the State Fair and leave without a Corn Dog fix. We made our way to Big Tex for our Texas welcome and then we strolled the Midway listening to the screams of the guys and gals on the wild rides, watching folks lose at those rigged fair games and chowing down on every fried item we had on our list of must haves. The weather was picture perfect and when dusk set in, the lights around the park and in the trees came on and the park was transitioned into a fairy tale. It was magical. The Texas State Fair is so beautiful which made me proud to be a native Texan. Here are a few memories of our day at the fair.
Enjoy,
MJ
