I hope y’all had a boomin 4th of July! We had a wonderful celebration with music, food and fireworks. This was our grand babies first 4th of July and we rolled him right out to the park with ear phones on to protect his tiny ears. My little snuggle bear slept through the entire show.

The weather was absolutely perfect after being hot as a firecracker all day. Once the sun set, a cool breeze swept through the picnic area and everyone exhaled. I noticed the weather is like this every evening which makes it a perfect time to plan a summer picnic.

Pack your basket and head to the backyard or a park around 7pm. You will still have daylight without the sun soaking up all your energy.

All you will need is a cute picnic basket like one of these gorgeous ones to create a picnic on the lawn.
They come with cutlery, place settings for 2-4 and a blanket.

Some baskets come with a frozen cooler but you can add your own to your basket to keep your items cool.
I like to make chicken salad sandwiches for a hearty protein then nibble on fruit, cheese, crackers, lunchmeat and an easy refreshing dessert like these lemon squares.

Place them in small containers or bags for easy transport.

Most baskets come with wine glasses. I chill my wine and add a couple bottles of iced cold water and we are set for an evening of budget friendly dining under the stars.

Until next time,

Enjoy!
